Hello to all my family and friends. I hope everyone is in good health and spirits.
Hoping everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I sure did. We had a lot of fun and food. I am thankful for many things, but one of the things I was grateful for on Thanksgiving this year is that you ate all three turkeys! Al took one of the carcasses home to make broth.
They say bone broth is very healthy. Well, what the heck do they think we were making all these years when we make homemade broths and chicken or turkey soup!!! They hype up these new products like its something they just invented. Oh! my gosh, that’s something Andy Rooney would have said on 60 minutes! 🙂
Well, it’s December already and where has the month gone?!
Thanks, everyone who entered our 8th Annual Chili Cookoff. Also, thank all of you for a wonderful tribute and honoring our dear friend Jesse Warnock. We will always remember his smiles, laughter, and carefree life. He never knew a stranger.
Since our last Connie’s Corner, we lost another friend of ours Tim of Tim and Sam, who mostly came during happy hour. Please keep Sam and family in your thoughts and prayers.
O-H I-O, Go Buckeyes!
What a terrific year they are having! Let’s keep cheering them onto victory!
Last Sunday, I had some friends and family over for Thanksgiving. I love spending time with all my family and friends. Eat, unwind, eat, good conversation and dessert. 🙂
Speaking of food!!!! What was Joey feeding the Fear Factor contestants? Did I hear dog and cat food and maybe some kind of insect or two, you know, for an appetizer! 🙂
I told Joey once, “Joey, I love you to death, but I can’t watch people eat unmentionable things and then get sick. Then I would get sick!” All joking aside, thank you Joey for bringing back your Fear Factor Pageant. People were talking about it for months! Miss Fear Factor 20 we congratulate you and also those who participated.
Coco was one of the judges and everyone is still talking about her beautiful green beaded evening gown!
Also, thanks to everyone who has and is donating to Let’s Do It Ministries, They are collecting coats, hats, gloves, shoes, and clothes for men, women, boys, and girls of all ages. We have a box in front of the DJ booth. They will pick up every Wednesday through January. Thank you again.
Come celebrate with us this Saturday 12/14/2019, for our Southbend Christmas Party at 2 pm with Debé, Bobby Hamlin, and Deneen. Bobby will tickle his ivories while Debé tickles your heart with their Christmas tunes. We will have food, 50-50 Raffle, Mr. & Mrs. Claus. This year instead of our regular Christmas show at 5 we will keep the music going with our Birthday Karaoke with Larry and Jonathon from 5 to 9 pm. So please join us!
Speaking of birthdays! If you are out and about on Thursday, please stop by and celebrate my 68th birthday! And remember, it’s blender Thursday!!!
On Saturday, 12/21/2019, it’s Let Get Cooking with Connie with your favorite Christmas Cookie. All entries in by 2:30 and judging at 3 pm.
Join us Wednesday, Christmas Day, at 2 pm, for our potluck dinner. I’ll be fixing up a couple of hams. Roger will be your Santa for the day. There will be no Bear Happy Hour but it will return on New’s Year Day.
I’ll be cooking pork and kraut for the New Year at noon. Then the bears will serve their dinner at 5 pm.
I want to take time to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah. I hope everyone’s holidays are happy, safe, and full of joy, peace, and love.
Well, I almost have my decorating completed. We will be putting up the tree today at the Southbend. So, join me and the elves (Jennifer Lynn and Stella) as we decorate. Sorry hot chocolate not included. 🙁
I will leave you with this one last thought: Smile! It will lighten your heart, spirits, and it’s contagious!
Take care of yourselves and each other.
Love,
Connie
