Hello everyone! We’re already almost through the month of July! Time is flying!
First, let me say THANK YOU so much for your support at the Bar-b-queer fundraiser we held yesterday! With everyone’s generous help, we raised $1,100 for the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, plus a whole box of school supplies. Special thanks to Stella, Mary St. Jaymes, Becca Bailey, and Viktor Elick for bringing their best!
Earlier in the month, we hosted Sonya’s Cancer Caregiver Center for a great fundraiser and raised $668. What a great community we have. Thanks to Alexis Milan, Miss Melody, Jennifer Lynn, and Stella for helping me to put on the show.
We got a new POS system at the bar. I think it was easier in the days we used an abacus! It looks pretty though.
We had a ball on Saturday with the pineapple dessert bake-off. Cooking with Connie sure is delicious. Congratulations to Bill for his pineapple pound cake, and thanks to everyone who shared their sweets.
August is going to be a busy month for Southbend. We start the month with Sunshine Bouvier’s benefit on Friday, August 3 from 6-9 p.m., we’ll host Stella’s Showtime Shenanigans on August 5 at 3 p.m. After the show, Russ and David will be celebrating with a band from 6-9 p.m., and before we know it, we’ll be celebrating Labor Day. I’ll write more about all that later.
I’ll close now and leave you with this final thought: It’s amazing how a small community can come together to help others in need. All of you should feel really, really good about yourselves.
